Two leaves of descriptive text are at rear, one in German and one in English. Black, flexible cardboard covers, stabbed and tied in Japanese style at the inner margin. Illustrated with 39 full-page photographic plates, most in color. Signed on the limitation page by Kai-Uwe Gundlach. "Edo" (the original name of Tokyo) is stamped in blind on the front cover and a Kanji title in old Edo style has been added by well-known calligrapher Rie Wada who used changing mixtures of natural pigments so that each of the 500 copies is now unique. The first chapter of EDO is the strongest European Eye on Japan. Takashi Homma
